Fake Snow Recipe

How to Make Fake Snow for Pretend Play 

Material Needed

Large bowl or sensory bin

2 ½ cups of baking soda

½ cup of white hair conditioner

Mix ingredients together and play

Fun ways to play

Use small toys for pretend play in the snow

Use cups or measuring tools to build 

Create roads with Marbles or toy cars and trucks

Speech & Language Skills

Articulation- put objects that have the targeted articulation sounds into the fake snow and have your child practice saying that word /r/- walrus, /sh/ shovel

Following directions- help your child read the directions and follow them thoroughly.  Have your child repeat the direction before and after  they do that step.

Sequencing- After you make the fake snow, have your child sequence out all the directions from first to last.  Use the materials and recipe as a visual aid.

Expressive language- Have your child produce complete sentences about how the sun feels and while playing in the fake snow
