Thank you for a successful speech language summer camp 2018!

As we wrapped up 2018 summer camp, we had to swallow that bitter-sweet feeling that comes with the end of such a magnificent summer. Thank you to all of the parents and campers for making each day such an enjoyable time for our team and we hope we were able to make it as enjoyable for you too!

Each and every camper came to camp with the willingness to learn new things, have fun, and make new friends.

“Children learn as they play. Most importantly, in play children learn how to learn.” – O. Fred Donaldson

Maybe they didn’t know it at the time, but the students improved upon their communication skills all summer. Whether through improved speech, more frequent speaking, or an increased willingness to express their needs with new communication tools, through play, progress was made.

Some campers were new, some enjoyed their 2nd or 3rd summer with us, but that didn’t matter; every child had their own goals and we encouraged and challenged them with a perfect balance of teaching, love, and fun.

“The ladies working with James took him as he is and worked with him on his terms but still pushed him to do better then he wanted to. I feel like James has made more attempts at talking when he comes home from camp.  The pictures sent every week shows James smiling and having fun with the teachers and friends.  The weekly reports were very helpful to know what to work on at home.” – Saralyn Bates

This summer our speech camp filled up earlier than it ever has before. So if you’re interested in a speech-language immersion summer camp for your child next summer, we encourage you to sign up for early notification when dates are announced for 2019.
